Attendance Up at Annual Water Conference in 2013

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) held its Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE13) in Denver, Colo., June 9-13. Attendance was up this year as more than 10,500 water professionals from across the country and the globe gathered at the Colorado Convention Center to see the latest products and services available, and to discuss some of the major trends across the industry.

WATERiD UPDATES

WATERiD has announced the establishment of its Industry Advisory Board, which is comprised of the Founding Gold Members from the industry: Applied Felts; Arcadis; Echologics; and Reline America. The board also includes WATERiD?s Founding Member Utilities: the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia; the City of Lynchburg, Virginia; and Aurora Water, Colo.

New Technologies

IDModeling, Inc. (IDM) has announced the commercial release of Sedaru? (See Data Run), software developed by water industry professionals to transform connectivity and communication in the industry and empower people as ?the true smart water network.?

American Water Scholarship Presented to Massachusetts Student

American Water announced last month that Joe Goodwill, a doctoral student at the University of Massachusetts ? Amherst, has been chosen as the recipient of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) 2013 American Water Scholarship. The scholarship is an annual award of $5,000 presented to a graduate level student to assist with the development of professionals interested in service to the water industry.
